You can get Coque… I mean Cocky ahead of Middlesbrough tie

Good morning Gooners… Today is Friday which means that we are just a day away from our game against Middlesbrough. The games are coming thick and fast now, and the need for rotation, and keeping players from becoming fatigued is more pressing than usual.

It’s what the managers are paid for however and so the fans must trust Wenger to get it right… He’s really done well so far this season, and maybe the fact that the club are not in a hurry to offer him a new contract has contributed to that. He seems hungrier than ever to win something.

The press conference ahead of tomorrow’s game is LIVE at the moment and a breakdown of the major points will be available to you later on civilizedgunner.

Our excellent form that has seen us win all of our last 7 games in all competitions could be a good thing and a bad thing.

We all know why it’s good, but it can be bad as well when the players become cocky and feel they just have to show up to certain games to win.

The manager is aware of this possibility and that’s why he said this after the Ludogorets game:

“Our confidence is stronger with every win, but we have to keep the vigilance as well, and the urgency to bring that into the next game,” the Frenchman added.

“Let’s not be too quick on the verdict [after a big win]. We have a strong squad and a strong spirit, but you have to take care of it and keep your feet on the ground.

“The only way to win something big is to focus on the next [match] and work on humility.”

Middlesbrough tomorrow represents exactly that challenge of a game where you need to keep your humility, but at the same time let your confidence shine through.

Another 3 points, a beautiful performanceand a clean sheet is just what the doctor is ordering.

Team news, and other updates later… I have a Surgery test to take this morning so wish me luck… I can’t get Arsenal out of my head…

Arsenal vs Ludogorets preview: let’s make it comfortable

Top of the morning to you where ever you are supporting Arsenal from… it’s morning here so If you’re in the USA or some other place with a different time zone, kindly accept my sincere greetings.

Today is another good day, because today, we get to watch the greatest club in the world play football.

It’s 90 minutes of escape from real life. It’s nearly 2 hrs of an experience that has often satisfied us this season…

Yes, we are in super hot form at the moment and I’m sure Ludogorets will hate that they have to play us in the champions league tonight but they have to.

In terms of team news, the boss has revealed that everyone who was available for the Swansea game, is available tonight. There are no new injury worries.

Giroud and Ramsey are back training but not in contention for the game, probably due to some match rustiness.

I do expect to see some rotation though for tonight, with the likes of Gabriel, Gibbs, Elneny, Chamberlain, Perez, no doubt firmly in the manager’s thoughts…

He has to find the right balance of freshness and cohesion… The current starting 11 seem to be clicking very well and alterations could affect that, but there is no way they can play every game.

Players like Alexis, Koscielny, Iwobi all looked pretty jaded towards the end of the Swansea game… They’ve started in nearly every fixture this season as well as representing their countries during international breaks…

It’s safe to say that they need a rest, so step forward, Ox, Perez and Gabriel.

The onus is on the players coming in to show that they can do a job when called upon…

That said, I expect to see a starting line up like this:

Bellerin            Mustafi         Gabriel       Gibbs

Cazorla              Elneny

Chamberlain             perez               Iwobi

It’s very difficult to predict because of the squad depth that we currently possess…

In midfield or example, we still have Coquelin and Xhaka…. perhaps Cazorla needs a rest as well and one of them comes the squad but it’s difficult to say.

I’ll be giving updates through out the day on twitter (@civilizedgunner) as news breaks.

The most important thing, no matter the team we put out today is to continue winning and hopefully make that win as comfortable as possible as well.

Anything less won’t be good for morale and momentum.

Enjoy the game folks…
