How our Loan stars performed this weekend

Wojciech Szczesny played as Roma picked up a 3-1 win at Napoli. Edin Dzeko scored a brace, before Kalidou Koulibaly halved the Giallorossi’s lead. However, the visitors held on and extended their lead once again when Mohamed Salah struck.

Jack Wilshere played 79 minutes of Bournemouth’s 6-1 rout of Hull City. Charlie Daniels opened the scoring before Ryan Mason pulled the Tigers level. Steve Cook restored the Cherries’ lead before Junior Stanislas scored twice. Goals from Callum Wilson and Dan Gosling rounded off the scoring.

Calum Chambers played the full 90 minutes of Middlesbrough’s 1-0 defeat to Watford at Riverside Stadium. Jose Holebas rifled home from outside the area to score the game’s only goal.

Takuma Asano came on at half-time as Stuttgart were beaten 5-0 by Dynamo Dresden. Stefan Kutschke opened the scoring, before Andreas Lambertz doubled the lead. Akaki Gogia then netted twice before Pascal Testroet completed the scoring.

Julio Pleguezuelo played the second half of Real Mallorca’s 2-1 loss at Levante. Ion Ansotegi put Mallorca in front, but goals from Chema Rodriguez and Jefferson Lerma turned the game in the hosts’ favour.

Kelechi Nwakali played the final eight minutes as Maastricht won 2-1 against Dordrecht. Ricardo Ippel scored Maastricht’s first goal, before Thomas Verheijdt added a second. Ricky van Haaren scored a consolation goal for Dordrecht in added time at the end of the second half.

Joel Campbell came on to play the final five minutes of Sporting Lisbon’s 1-0 win away at Famalicao in the Taca de Portugal. Lazar Markovic’s goal after 10 minutes was all that separated the two sides.
