Arsenal vs Swansea Preview: Pretty confident of a win

I feel untold joy whenever i wake up knowing that i get to watch 90 minutes of Arsenal that day. I don’t even worry about the fact that we may or may not win. I just always wish and expect the best.

We play Swansea city today at the Emirates and one can not be blamed for being a bit worried however, because in Swansea, we are facing a club that we have beaten only once in our last five encounters. They’ve won three of those games, and the last was a 2-2 draw. Of the three they won, two were at the Emirates, and the most recent was the 2-1 defeat at the Emirates last season.

So it’s safe to say that they have been bossing us for some time, a completely unexplainable phenomenon giving the remarkable difference in quality between the two teams. All that is history now however, and what everyone will be talking about is the final result after today’s game.

Arsene Wenger had Swansea’s good run against us in mind when he said

“We had a very negative experience against Swansea last season, which killed our opportunity to win the championship. We need to show we can deal with fixtures where we are the favourites.”

Today’s game is so important not only because we have a score to settle with them, but more importantly because we want to win the league, and to do that you have to win a home games against teams struggling at the bottom of the table. Manchester city have a tough game today against Everton, and Spurs go to Westbrom. Both teams could easily drop points, and so the onus is on us to not choke right now and win this game.

From a form point of view, we’ve won our last 5 games in all competitions, while Swansea have lost 4 and drawn 1 in that same time.

Wenger has showed a reluctance to rotate in the league and champions league this season, opting to play the same team in almost all of those games except a change is enforced by injuries, and Ospina being the champions league goalkeeper.

I fully expect him to continue in similar fashion. I also expect Coquelin to come back into the squad despite only returning from injury a week ago. Wenger’s  preference of Coquelin over Xhaka at the moment is fully justified and i will be discussing our quite impressive midfield depth in details subsequently.

Bellerin           Mustafi               Koscielny                    Monreal

Coquelin              Cazorla

Walcott                            Sanchez                              Iwobi

A good start and a half time lead should  see us through.

Whatever you’ll be doing today, keep a date for 3pm.

I have a feeling we are going to have a great game, and oh, today is Mesut Ozil’s birthday so i hope he getss a goal and 3  assists.

Happy birthday Mesut.
